RUTH ELAINE HOMMEN, age 80, of Luverne, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Tuff Memorial Home, in Hills. She was born July 19, 1925, in Luverne, to Neil and Jessie (Martin) Roberts. Ruth graduated from Luverne High School in 1943. She later received her Teaching Degree from Mankato Teachers College. She taught elementary school in Hills. Ruth married Ole Hommen on June 12, 1948, in Luverne. After their marriege, the couple lived in Luverne all of their married lives. Ruth worked as the Rock County Matron & Dispatcher for over twenty years. She became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home on March 19, 2003. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Luverne. Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, playing the piano & spending time with her family especially during the holidays. Ruth is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim & Terri Hommen, Odenton, MD; and Jack & Pam Hommen, Fargo, ND; two grandchildren, Andy Hommen, St. Cloud; and Alicia (Randy) McCullum, Minnetonka; and two great grandchildren, Jackson & Madison McCullum, Minnetonka. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ole, in 2000.
