RUTH MARY WELCH, age 93, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home in Luverne, Minnesota. Born to Roy and Olive (Walker) Moss, she grew up on a farm near Reading, Minnesota. She attended High School in Worthington, Minnesota: and college in La Mars, Iowa.

She married Albyn Welch July 22, 1945 after WWII, at the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren (Emmanuel United Methodist) Church in Worthington where they raised their family and worked in the community. She also worked at various jobs including Fauskees Nursing Home as an aid.

She was a wonderful homemaker, preparing lovely family dinners and sewing clothing for her children and herself. She used her skills serving, participating and planning family church and community events. She loved camping, swimming and hiking, and was a formidable board game and Scrabble player.

Ruth is survived by her four children, Nancy Dreeszen, Sioux Falls, SD; Kathy (Richard) Daughters, Roy, UT; Jim Welch (Mary Kraljic), Brookings, SD; and Steve Welch (Eileen Mitchell), Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren, Wendy (Kent) Wiese, Jason (Rachel) Ehlers, Shannon (Beverly) Ehlers, Sara Daughters, Seth Daughters, Becky Digue, and Bernard Welch; and seven great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albyn on February 1, 2012; daughter, Carole Ehlers; grandson, Paul Dreeszen; a great-grandson, Carson Daughters; a son-in-law, Denny Dreeszen; and two brothers, Richard and Lowell Moss.

Funeral will be 1 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Dr. Daren Flinck. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
