RUTH CAROLINE OBERMOLLER, age 81, of rural Brewster, MN; died, Friday, August 14, 2009 at her home in rural Brewster. She was born August 18, 1927 in Little Rock Township, MN; to parents, Herman Reinhold and Freda Bertha Minnie (Pieper) Wick. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John?s Lutheran Church in Rushmore. She graduated from Adrian High School. After her schooling, she worked at Montgomery Ward in Worthington and worked with the Nobles County Nurse. Ruth was united in marriage to Eric Otto Obermoller on November 29, 1946 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Rushmore. After marriage they farmed southwest of Brewster. In 1958, Ruth, Shorty and their two boys moved to their present farm east of Brewster. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster and was the organist, taught Sunday school, release time, vacation bible school and sang in the choir. She played piano at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Heron Lake for worship services. She enjoyed gardening, needle work, baking, playing the organ and piano, playing cards and dancing. She also loved farm work and being outside. Ruth is survived by her husband, Eric (Shorty) Obermoller, rural Brewster; children, Douglas and wife Susan Obermoller, Worthington and Donnie Obermoller, rural Brewster; grandchildren, Andrew and wife Natalie Obermoller, West Fargo, ND; Katherine and husband Michael Neel, Kendall, NY; Sonja and husband Ryan Olson, Anchorage, AK; and Tracy Obermoller, St. Paul, MN; four great grandchildren, Ava, Layne, Norah, and Leonidas; sister-in-laws, Erma Wick, Worthington and Vera Wick, Rushmore; brother and sister-in-law, Heinz and Lillie Obermoller, Worthington and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Luvaine; brothers, Myron, Eugene and Herbert.
