Obituary

RUTH PAWLITSCHEK, age 88, of Worthington, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born November 13, 1918 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to parents Romanza and Elizabeth (True) Stine. She was raised in the Fulda area and graduated from Fulda High School. Ruth was united in marriage to George Pawlitschek on November 24, 1941 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake. They farmed in the Heron Lake area until 1951 when they moved to Dundee. After her husband?s death she moved to Sunshine Apartments in Worthington in 1992 and in 2001 became a resident of Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. Ruth had been a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Dundee for many years. She was involved with the WCCW and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, gardening and going to dances when her father performed in the band. She is survived by her children, Jeanne (William) Benson, Worthington and JoAnn Bailes, Palm Bay, Florida; two grandchildren, Jason Bailes, Melbourne, Florida and Stacy (Richard) Robbins, Palm Bay, Florida and one great-grandson, Noah Robbins. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Betty Stine and Florence Pawlitschek. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George in 1991, son James in 1965 and seven siblings, Russell, Maurice, Vernon, Fern, Benny, Ivan and John.
