SCOTT MATHEW HATTING, age 43, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, at St. John?s Hospital in Detroit, MI. He was born September 1, 1965, in Luverne, to Clem Jr. ?Butch? and Vicki (Mathison) Hatting. Scott attended school in Luverne and graduated in 1983. Scott volunteered to join the U.S. Army and completed his basic training in Missouri. He later was stationed in South Carolina and Alaska. He worked for Siebenahler Construction before moving to Detroit, MI in 1993 where he was employed by Smith Instruments Inc. Scott was united in marriage to Joy Easthope on May 17, 1997, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Detroit. Scott was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma in January 2008. He enjoyed sports especially the Dallas Cowboys, the Detroit Tigers and Redwings. He also enjoyed collecting all types of sports cards and spending time with family and friends in Michigan and Minnesota. He was grateful he was able to visit Minnesota in the spring of 2008. Scott is survived by his wife Joy, Detroit, MI; parents, Butch and Vicki Hatting, Luverne; grandmother, Eunice Mathison, Luverne; sister, Jennifer (Greg) McClure, Luverne; brother, Eric (Shelly) Hatting, Minneapolis; nieces, Tara Muck, Nora Hatting; nephews, Tyler Muck, Eli Hatting; brothers in law, Michael, John, David; sisters in law, Wendy, Lynn, Christine, and their families; and his favorite dog Wylee. He is preceded in death by his parents in law, Michael and Barbara Easthope; grandfather Elgin Mathison; paternal grandparents, Clem and Margaret Hatting.
