BIOGRAPHY OF LATE UNCLE SEVERINO ANGELO LOKU MÖDI

Severino Mödi was born on January 1, 1951 to Medelena Obe and Angelo Loku of Nyori Pösökiri Bari clan of Bilinyang village in Juba, South Sudan. He was educated at Rejaf Bush School and Okaru respectively. In 1969, Mödi left for Khartoum, Sudan where he worked and lived for the next 34 years. In 1978, Severino married the love of his life, Fidensia Igale of Biajen clan of Gondokoro and they have been happily together for 38 years. Due to the North-South conflict in the Sudan, the family moved to Cairo, Egypt in 2003. In 2006, Mödi, Igale and the kids moved to Minnesota where he became a U.S. citizen and worked at meat processing company in Worthington MN, to support this family.

Severino Mödi died on February 14, 2016 at Sanford hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota due to complications of heart attack that left him brain dead for two weeks. He is survived by his lovely wife, Fidensia Igale, three children: Susan, Flora and Clement and four grandchildren: Sukeji, Poni, Nene and Medina.

Severino Mödi was a devoted husband, a caring father, a great uncle and a dear friend to many. He was truly a man of peace, a man of great generosity, a man of God and a man of the people. Although Yaba Mödi as referred by all is no longer with us, his life and legacy will live forever on this planet earth. May the Almighty God in Heaven grant solace to the broken hearts and rest the soul of his servant in eternal peace with the Virgin Mary mother of God and all the Angels and Saints amen.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm; and from 5-6 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington. Funeral Mass will be 1 pm Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. James Calahan. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
