SHANNON BRIGGS, age 48, of Luverne, formerly of Worthington, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at her home in Luverne.
She was born June 21, 1964, in Lakefield, to LeRoy and Marcella (Hove) Hurlburt. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1982. She also attended and graduated from Jackson Vocational College with a Medical Secretary degree.
Shannon was united in marriage to Richard Briggs on July 22, 1989, at the American Lutheran Church, in Worthington. After their marriage they made their home in Worthington, where Shannon worked for various businesses in the area, most recently at Glen's Food Center in Luverne.
She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Worthington. She was also active helping with the Special Olympics in Worthington. She enjoyed doing puzzle books and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Shannon is survived by her mother, Marcella Hurlburt, Worthington; two children, Amber Briggs (Cody Ross), Worthington; Tyler Briggs, Luverne; two grandchildren, Morgan Ross and Jace Briggs; seven siblings, Dennis Hurlburt, Sioux Falls; Dick (Debbie) Hurlburt, Sioux Falls; Diane (Steve) DeGroot, Worthington; Nancy (Gary) Prochaska, Worthington; Pat (Jeff) Klumper, Sioux Falls; Mike (Sheila) Hurlburt, Worthington; Mary (Larry) Harsma, Rushmore; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, father, LeRoy.
