SHERRY ANN BOERSMA, age 68, of Worthington, died Saturday, May 3, 2025, at her home. She was born October 22, 1956, in Worthington, to Robert and Bernice (Boomgaarden) DeBates. She graduated from Adrian High School; and later from Pipestone Area Vo-Tech. Sherry married Harlan Boersma on August 28, 1976, at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. The couple lived in Worthington. Sherry worked at K-Mart for twenty three years and then at Walmart for twenty two years before retiring in July of 2022. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; and the Worthington Elks. She enjoyed gardening. Sherry is survived by her husband, Harlan Boersma, Worthington; daughter, Erin (Noel) Hammill, Apple Valley; three grandchildren, Paige Hammill, Minneapolis; Pierce Hammill, Eau Clair, WI; and Cole Hammill, Romeoville, IL; dear friend, Chad Boots, Worthington; two brothers, Terry (Karen) DeBates, Sioux Falls, SD; and Craig (Vickie) DeBates, Adrian; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dwayne DeBates.

A time of fellowship will be from 4-6 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Saturday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
