STEVEN J. CORTRIGHT, age 64, of Elkridge, Maryland, died, Friday, October 24, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice Home in Columbia, Maryland. He was born on September 12, 1950 in Worthington to parents Lowell and Frances (Bartling) Cortright. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. Steven graduated from Worthington High School in 1968 and attended school at Jackson Vocational School and also at Willmar Community College.
Steven enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1980. In 1981, he moved to Elkridge, Maryland and worked as a network operator for the Federal Government and retired in 2005. He enjoyed collecting replica model cars, attending movies, traveling and having coffee at Dunkin Donuts each morning.
Steven is survived by his siblings, Gary (Velma) Cortright, Worthington; Larry (Sally) Cortright, Fountain Hills, AZ; Mary Ann (Jim) Riemersma, Grand Rapids, MI and Marlyn Cortright, Worthington; two nieces, Gayla (Troy) Aljets, Brewster and Renee (Jeff) Thomas, Grand Rapids, MI; great nephew, Krew Aljets, great nieces, Kirsten & Kessey Aljets and Kendra & Kaleigh Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Vincent Cortright and great niece Kallie Aljets.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 1 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Braun officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington, MN.
