THECLA GENEVIEVE STROUTH, age 92, of Wilmont, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the Walker Methodist Home, in Minneapolis. She was born April 16, 1916, in Wesley, IA, to Ignaz and Thekla (Simons) Eisenbacher. Thecla graduated from Wesley High School in 1934. She later graduated from St. Josephs Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, in Mason City, IA, on October 10, 1939. She worked as a nurse in Los Angeles, CA. Thecla married Jacob Strouth on October 3, 1945, in Wesley, IA. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Wilmont. Jacob died in 1967. Thecla moved to Wilmont. She worked as a house painter and did staining. Thecla moved to Minneapolis in 1992. She became a resident of St. Theresa, in Hopkins; and later Walker Methodist Home, in Minneapolis. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont; the WCCW; and the Wilmont VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, gardening & making quilts. Thecla is survived by her three children and their spouses, John & Paulie Strouth, Minneapolis; Kathy Strouth, La Cross, WI; and Barb & Tom Berosik, Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, Jesse Strouth, Gerrod Defoe, Paul Prasad, Patricia Prasad, Mathew Prasad, Shawn Strouth, Sarah Strouth, Jaclyn Berosik & Jennifer Berosik; seven great grandchildren, Alan Strouth, Travis Defoe, Cordahn Prasad, Jorden Prasad, A-Shari Strouth, Alexis & Tyrell Strouth; brother, Vince Eisenbacher, Wesley, IA; and three sisters, Jane (Ben) Faurot, Los Angeles, CA; Ruth Strouth, Worthington; and Lucile Nelson, Wesley, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob; son, James Strouth, in 2004; grandson, Jacob Strouth, in 1996; and ten siblings.
