Obituary

THELMA L. DAVIS, age 94, of Hills, formerly of Luverne, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at the Tuff Memorial Home, in Hills. She was born April 28, 1912, in Rock County, to Rhody and Carrie (Leas) Scott. She graduated from Luverne High School. Thelma married Jerry Davis on March 28, 1936, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia. Thelma worked at the Magnolia Post Office for over twenty years, where she had served as Postmaster before retiring in 1964. Jerry died on February 24, 1962. Thelma later moved to Luverne. She became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home on February 17, 1998. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, in Luverne; and the Luverne VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework. Thelma is survived by her nephew, Marv (Hermina) Tripp, Worthington; niece, Judy (Carroll) Koepsell, Worthington; brother-in-law, Bob Davis; and several great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; sister, Meroe Tripp; brother-in-law, H. Marvell Tripp; and a special friend, Roger Mork. A tree will be dedicated in memory of Thelma Davis, by Hospice of Sioux Valley Luverne Hospital. Blessed Be Her Memory.
