THELMA SPIELMAN, age 92, of Adrian, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Adrian Country Living. She was born January 11, 1919, in Lismore, to Frank and Grace (Hilfers) Ross. The family farmed in various areas in Rock & Nobles counties. She graduated from Magnolia High School in 1937. Thelma married Julian Spielman on August 15, 1939, in Estherville, IA. After their marriage, the couple moved to Bushnell, SD. When Julian returned from the service, they moved to Worthington where Thelma & Julian were self employed in the retail lumber business. They later moved to Rushmore where Thelma worked as a bookkeeper at Cenex for over thirty years. She became a resident of the Adrian Country Living in August of 2006. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, serving as Elder and Clerk of Session. She was also a member of the Worthington Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Rushmore Booster Club; and the Rushmore Senior Citizens. Thelma is survived by her son, Ross (Colleen) Spielman, Van Alstyne, TX; daughter, Janet (Rev. Stephen) Wilson, Red Cloud, NE; six grandchildren, Troy (Ami) Speilman, Gilbert, AZ; Laurie Ann (Chris) Tilton, Wylie, TX; Stephanie (Ken) Farrell, McKinney, TX; Brittany Spielman, Plano, TX; Chad (Michelle) Wilson, Ohaha, NE; and Israel (Melaine) Wilson, Omaha, NE; ten great grandchildren; sister, Joan Martinez, Weatherford, TX; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julian, on March 7, 1997; and two sisters, Janet Petersen & Mildred Jacobs.
