Obituary

Theodore Roosevelt Anderson, age 87, of Luverne, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home, Luverne, MN. He was born March 17, 1919, to Oscar and Florence (Vail) Anderson on the family farm near Leota, Minnesota. Ted attended School in Leota and Pipestone, and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1938. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in Europe and Africa from 1940 to 1945. On July 4, 1941 he married Dorothea Leicher and together they had nine children. They later divorced. On December 21, 1974 he married Janice Frahm. Janice died in June of 1977. In September of 1979 he married Lolita (Noll) Hoffelman and she died on Jaunuary 13, 2006. Ted was a life member of the VFW, and a member of the VFW Honor Guard, Cooties, and the American Legion. Ted was also a member of the Army National Guard and retired as a First Sergeant. Ted was proud of his military heritage and one of the highlights of his life was when he and his military comrades were invited to have coffee with the Minnesota Governor's wife in tribute to their contributions to the nation. Ted is survived by his first wife, nine children and their spouses, Michele (Vernon) Perkins, Worthington; Stephanie (Gary) Frackman, Anchorage, AK; Barbara Wise, Anchorage, AK; Juli (Calvin) Kuipers, Mankato; James (Laura) Anderson, Luverne; Wendy (Dick) Grill, Luverne; Dan (Becky) Anderson, Hills; Stephen (Donna) Anderson, Lyndon, UT and Thomas (Ronny) Anderson, Oceanside, CA; 28 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Orval Anderson, Balaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and three brothers.
