Obituary

Ty Martin Westendorf, age 61, of Worthington, passed peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at his home. He was born August 11, 1963, in Mason City, IA. As a kid, he grew up in Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School in 1981. He completed his college degree at Willmar Tech.

Ty married Pam Morris on March 2, 1989, in Sibley, IA. They lived in Tempe, AZ before moving to Willmar, MN. They raised their two daughters there, before moving to Worthington in 1999. Ty worked at JBS, in Worthington, as the Project Manager. He worked at JBS for over twenty years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He loved sharing those hobbies with his daughters. Throughout his life, he was a member and supporter of many wildlife management and land conservation groups, among other local sportsman's clubs. If he was not hunting and fishing, he was at home working on projects or building things in the garage. He had the eye for design and could make anything he needed.

Ty loved his wife and his girls. He took pride in providing for all three of them and teaching them everything he knew about life. Nothing brought him more joy than becoming a grandpa in 2023. His granddaughter had him wrapped around his finger from the start. Although his time as a father was raising daughters, he was proud to have a son-in-law who he could also share his hobbies with; they always joked a bad day hunting always beats a good day at work.

Ty is survived by his wife, Pam Westendorf, Worthington; daughter, Brittany (Josh) Olson, Heron Lake; granddaughter, Olivia Olson; and a sister, Tonya (Scott) Langland, Worthington.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Meghan Westendorf, in 2018.
