UBBE DICK TIMMERMAN, age 86, of Ellsworth, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born March 12, 1927, in rural Rock Rapids, IA, to Richard and Etta (Jurrens) Timmerman. He attended country school near Rock Rapids, IA.
Ubbe married Gladys Nagel on December 30, 1949, in Ellsworth. After their marriage, the couple lived in Ellsworth. Ubbe worked for the Nobles County Hiway Department for over forty years. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Department and the Ellsworth Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing.
Ubbe is survived by his three sons, Rick (Pat) Timmerman, Colo, IA; Wayne (Julie) Timmerman, Clay Center, KS; and Paul (Gail) Timmerman, Brewster; nine grandchildren, Nicole Halverson, Ryan Timmerman, Heidi Gearhart, Stephanie Hessling, Robert Timmerman, Tanna Timmerman, Billie Jo Timmerman, Jamie Hendel & Kristin Strandberg; eighteen great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Timmerman, in 1990; three brothers, Willie, Louie & Benny Timmerman; and a sister, Johanna Akkerman.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. A private family funeral service will be at a later date.
