VELMA A. BOCKWOLDT, age 94, of Worthington, died, Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Sanford Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born December 8, 1915, in Round Lake Township. Velma was the fifth child of Hans and Alma (Untiedt) Bockwoldt. She attended school at a rural school in Round Lake Township. After school she helped with house work and chores. In 1967, she moved to Worthington with her brothers and sister. She loved to garden and work with flowers. For a number of years they did rug weaving and later she did rug braiding. She joined American Lutheran Church in 1968. She helped her brothers get ready for sales. Velma is survived by two sisters, Helen Paulsen, Round Lake; and Irene Bockwoldt, Worthington; two nieces, Linda Paulsen, Round Lake; and Donna (Keith) Prentice, Terril, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, William, Walter and Edwin who was killed serving his country in 1944. Also, a brother Raymond and a sister Alice.
