VERLA DELORES GERDES, age 98, of Worthington, was promoted to heaven on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Golden Horizons in Worthington. She was born November 1, 1926, in Hartley, IA, to Vernon and Edith (Remaly) Williams. She graduated from Hartley High School. Verla married Bennie Gerdes in 1945, and except for a short period of time in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, they have resided in Worthington. She was a member of the Solid Rock Assembly in Worthington; and the Women Ministries. She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Verla is survived by her three daughters, Marvene (Daniel) Dettman, Mason City, IA;  Vonda (Butch) Niemann, Prior Lake; and Jureen (Bob) Millsaps, Katy, TX; a son, Loren (Nancy) Gerdes, Sun City West, AZ; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Bennie on December 3, 2017; a brother, Mervin Williams; and a sister, Alvena Weimer.

Memorial service will be at 11 am, Friday, April 25 at Solid Rock Assembly in Worthington. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will take place later.

In lieu of flowers to the family, "Memorials in her honor may be given to the Solid Rock Assembly Missions Fund."
