VETA MARIE SANDHURST, age 65, of Magnolia, died Friday, August 28, 2020, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage after a six year battle with multiple myeloma cancer. She was born July 12, 1955, in Luverne, to Henry and Mildred (Kruger) Dohlmann. She graduated from Magnolia High School.

Veta married Bruce VastenHout and to this union one daughter, Teresa was born. The couple divorced. Veta married Terry Sandhurst on August 31, 1996, at the Magnolia Methodist Church. After their marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia. Veta worked at Kenny's Super Value in Luverne. She then worked at the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne, for over twenty five years.

She was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church. She enjoyed going fishing, gardening beautiful flowers, crocheting many beautiful doilies and many other crafts.

Veta is survived by her two brothers, Dallas (Carol) Dohlmann, Magnolia; and Neil (Sharon) Dohlmann, Magnolia; many nieces & nephews; her mother-in-law, Marlene (Dave) Murphy, Windom; and many faithful friends that helped her on her journey with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry on May 2, 2019; daughter, Teresa VastenHout; and an infant brother.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 am at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Nancy Manning. A private family burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Magnolia Methodist Church.
