VINCENT LEONARD WIENEKE, age 92, of Lismore, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. He was born May 23, 1920, in Lismore Township, rural Nobles County, to Herman and Josephine (Geistkemper) Wieneke. He attended St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore and later attended agriculture school through the G.I. Bill. He served his country in the United States Army in the European Theater during WWII.
Vince married Margaret Suedkamp on November 25, 1947, at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple farmed southwest of Lismore. In 1977, they retired and moved into Lismore. Vince also sold Vigor tone Feed Additives; and Disco Seed.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore; the Knights of Columbus; and the Lismore American Legion. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.
Vince is survived by his wife, Margaret Wieneke, Lismore; two children, Mark (Brigitte) Wieneke, Luverne; and Jane Wieneke, Luverne; two grandchildren, Astrid Rittenhouse & Magie Wieneke; two great grandchildren, Nicholas & Melanie Rittenhouse; sister, Mary Ann Spieker, Lismore; and two sisters-in-law, Louella Henning, Mankato; and Margie Wieneke, Adrian.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Wieneke; daughter, Ann Wieneke; and ten siblings.
