Obituary

VIOLA E. HONERMANN, age 93, of Adrian, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born September 27, 1913, in Larkin Township, rural Nobles County, to Frederick and Catherine (Kern) Reker. Viola attended Lismore Public School. Viola married Henry Honermann on January 24, 1939, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Adrian Area. Viola also worked at Campbell?s Soup Co. in Worthington. In 1970, they retired and moved into Adrian, where Viola worked at the Adrian Grade School and the Adrian Clinic. Viola became a resident of the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home on January 20, 2006. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; the WCCW; the Christian Mothers; past member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Santa Maria; and a past officer of the Adrian VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, scrapbooks, fishing, flowers, riding through the countryside, scratch tickets & especially spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Viola is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Annette Honermann, Worthington; daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Jerome Weidert, Lismore; ten grandchildren, Quintin (Mary) Honermann, Curtis (Samantha) Honermann, Jill (Jeff) Janot, Jeff (Jan) Weidert, Jim (Kris) Weidert, Jean (Tim) Loosbrock, Joe (Shaunda) Weidert, John (Kim) Weidert, Jerry Weidert and Joan (Todd) Miller; twenty seven great grandchildren; four Godchildren, Carol Bertrand, Glenda Groen, Mark Reker and Mike Fritz; three brothers, Milo Reker, Worthington; Ray Reker, Sioux Falls, SD; and Fred (Rita) Reker, St. Cloud; four sisters-in-law, Betty Reker, Lismore; Anita Reker, Adrian; Elaine Reker, Luverne; and Dorothy Reker, Fulda; and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, in 1986; a great granddaughter, Emily Loosbrock; two sisters, Rosena Reker and Irene Stubbe; and four brothers, Edwin, Roman, Alvin & Sylvester Reker.
