VIOLA MARVEL DORA LADD, age 95, of Luverne, died Wednesday September 19, 2007, at the Sanford Luverne Hospital, in Luverne. She was born March 25, 1912 to parents, Fredrick and Anne (Lorenz) Claussen at a farm near Hardwick. She attended country school in rural Hardwick. Viola married William Ladd. After their marriage they lived on a farm in rural Hardwick. He died in 1945. After his death Viola worked for the Jasper Phone Exchange in Hardwick. Viola then married Harley Ladd on June 14, 1951, in Luverne. After their marriage the couple lived in Hardwick and Kenneth, before moving to Luverne in 1957. During their marriage, Viola worked for Coast to Coast and George?s Bakery in Luverne. She also helped Harley at the Kerr-McGee Station in Luverne. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Viola is survived by four children, Ardean (Marla) Ladd, LaMirada, CA; Francis (Patricia) Ladd, Luverne; Sharon (Alex) Frick, Richfield; and Debra Bush, Luverne; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Eunice Claussen, Luverne. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William in 1945, husband Harley in 1997, two sisters, one step-son, Lauren Ladd, and twin grandsons, Daniel and Douglas.
