VIOLA M. RUFFING, age 92, of Adrian, died, Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Sanford Adrian Care Center in Adrian, MN. She was born September 26, 1916 in Adrian to parents Frank and Justine (Weidert) Banck. She attended and graduated from St. Adrian Catholic School in Adrian. Viola was united in marriage to Harold Ruffing on February 8, 1945 at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. They farmed in the Adrian area until 1979 when they retired and moved into Adrian. She provided child care for several families in Adrian. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the CCW. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Viola is survived by her children, Barb (Les) Bruns, Mankato, MN; and Don (Pat) Ruffing, Gaylord, MN; five grandchildren, Chad Bruns, Stacy (Brent) Pearson, Keith (Deanna) Ruffing, Eric (Sarah) Ruffing and Sara Ruffing; six great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Neva Banck of Adrian. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 1991 and a daughter Carol Ruffing in 1974, six brothers and five sisters.
