VIOLET CLARK, age 95 of Worthington, formerly of rural Rushmore died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda. She was born September 30, 1921, in rural Rushmore, to Herb and Florence (Sherfield) Henrichs. Violet attended country school south of Rushmore. After here schooling she remained on the family farm helping with the farming operation.
Violet married Arnold Clark Jr. on January 16, 1944, south of Rushmore. After their marriage the couple farmed near Brewster and rural Worthington. In 1950 they bought a farm southeast of Rushmore. Arnie and Violet also raised a variety of livestock. The couple lived on the farm until 2013.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington. She loved working on the farm and enjoyed caring for her yard. She enjoyed dancing especially Polka's. Violet and Arnold attended many Polkafests and they also enjoyed square dancing. She had a great relationship with her grandchildren, teaching her two grandsons how to drive, and having long talks with her granddaughter.
Violet is survived by her two children, Donald (Linda) Clark, Bloomington, MN; Marlow (Claudette) Clark, Arcadia, MI; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Jason (Maria), and Carly Clark; one great grandchild, Reese Ryan Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold Clark Jr. on May 8, 2015, four sisters, 1 brother and 1 foster brother.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 11 am Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen Smith. Burial will be at Sunset Rest Cemetery, Rushmore.
