VIVIAN MAE METZ, age 92, of Adrian, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center in Adrian. She was born September 7, 1915 in Rushmore, MN; to parents Bart and Mary Ann (Green) Owens. She attended school in Rushmore and graduated from Adrian High School in 1934. Vivian was united in marriage to Louis John Metz on December 31, 1934 at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Westside Township until retiring and moving to Adrian in 1973. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and also was a member of the Christian Mothers and Ladies Aide. Vivian also belonged to the Extension Club in Adrian. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Vivian is survived by her children, Mary Carol (Donald) Lursen, Adrian; Mylo (Elsie) Metz, Sioux Falls; Jo Willemstein, Tusla, OK; Donna (Robert) Bartholomaus, Clarion, IA; Dolores (Duane) Ruser, Guntersville, AL; Patricia (Hubert) Pass, Worthington; Kay Jean (Larry) Dammer, Cannon Falls; Michael (Beverly) Metz, Adrian; Patrick (Coletta) Metz, Adrian; and Gayle (Dale) Buss, Adrian; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Marvin W. Owens, Luverne and a brother-in-law, Wilfred P. Winter, Luverne. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis on January 18, 1997, grandson Shawn Willemstein, great grandson, Shane Wisnoskie, great great granddaughter, Lauren Hanlon, son-in-law, Gary Hokeness, two sisters and six brothers.
