VIVIAN MARGARET PETERSEN, age 93, of Luverne, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her home. She was born December 30, 1915, in rural Rock County, Denver Township, to Henry P. and Margaret (Sierks) Stamman. Vivian attended country school in rural Rock County and graduated from Luverne High School in 1934. She then attended a year of Normal School. Vivian taught school in Rock County for five years. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm for over fifty years. She enjoyed playing organ at various churches for fifty years. In 1983, Vivian retired off of the farm and moved to Luverne. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Trosky, where she played organ for twenty years. The Ladies Aid; the Luverne Senior Citizens; and volunteered as a tour guide at the Hinkly House. She enjoyed music & life. Vivian is survived by her four children, Stanton Petersen, Luverne; Daniel Petersen, South St. Paul; Mary Petersen, Luverne; and David (Joanne) Petersen, Hardwick; eleven grandchildren, Tami (Jake) Gove, Amy (friend, Dave) Petersen, Troy (Rachel) Petersen, Scott (friend, Amanda) Petersen, Donovan Petersen, Orion (Kathy) Petersen, Jeffrey (Shinobu) Baier, Aric (Jodi) Baier, Jenna (Fianc?e, Luke) Petersen, Robert Petersen & Richard Petersen; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gene; and a great grandson, Josh Gove.
