WALTER W. JACOBS, age 87, of Worthington, died, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. He was born May 20, 1922 in rural Rushmore, MN; to parents Will and Effie (Aielts) Jacobs. He attended Hilltop Country School in District #89. Walter was united in marriage to Evelyn Braun at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading, MN. They farmed southeast of Rushmore and lived there until October of 2007. They farmed, raised livestock and had dairy cows. He was a member of the East Friesland Church of Christ. Walter enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed tinkering on antiques and working on farm machinery. Walter is survived by his wife Evelyn Jacobs, Worthington, MN; son, Wesley (Sylvia) Jacobs, Atwater, MN; four grandchildren, Sarah Jacobs, New London, MN; Corey Jacobs, Willmar, MN; Erica Jacobs, Atwater, MN; and Logan Jacobs, Atwater, MN; brother, Wilbur Jacobs, Worthington, MN; two sister-in-laws, Fern Jacobs, Worthington, MN; and Marian Jacobs, Rushmore, MN; nieces and nephews also survived. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Dick and George Jacobs.
