Obituary

WAYNE LEE JOHNSON, age 62, of Bigelow, formerly of Snohomish, WA and Milpitas, CA, died Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009, at his daughter?s house in San Jose, CA. He was born October 15, 1946, in Sibley, IA to Harold and Mary Lou (Westby) Johnson. He lived in many different houses in MN growing up, attending several schools. He left home at 18, to attend Devry in Chicago majoring in electronics technology which allowed him to be an Electronics Engineer, his lifetime career. His first job took him to California, working on Trident Missiles for submarines at Lockheed. Soon he began working for Fluke in California and then in Washington State and his final job was at the Conveyor Company in Sibley, IA where he retired just last year. While in California he married and had his only, child, daughter, Gina. He mentioned that he felt this was his greatest accomplishment. As a boy he enjoyed fishing trips with his father, driving motorcycle, family holidays where his favorite Date Cake was served and going over to his paternal Grandmother?s to be treated to her Raisin Pie. As a trainer at Fluke, he loved being sent around the world to Australia, China, and Europe as well as other places. He loved to travel even before being at Fluke, once searching for a job in Germany and Switzerland. His other interests included reading, mechanics, boating, alternative health, building models, being a Grandpa and flying. He was a member of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) for three years. He was a regular attendee of New Life Covenant Church in San Jose, CA shortly before his death. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Gina (Thomas) Bluhm, San Jose, CA; two grandchildren, Jaliel Thomas Bluhm and Mattias Wayne Bluhm; his father, Harold Johnson, Bigelow; sister, Lacinda (Daryl) Swenhaugen, Westbrook, MN; brothers, Kelly (Beth Brown) Johnson, Columbus, MT; and Marty (Tammy Connor) Johnson, Bigelow, MN. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Lou
