Obituary

WILLIAM (BILL) DAVIS, age 80, of Worthington, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Worthington Regional Hospital. He was born on April 19, 1928, on a farm at Terril, IA to parents Everett and Eunice (Swale) Davis. Bill attended eight years of country school in Terril and then graduated from Terril Community High School in 1946, along with twelve other classmates. After graduation Bill joined the U.S. Army in the Quarter Master Corp. from May of 1946 until November of 1947. He was stationed in Inchon, Korea. Bill was united in marriage to Lola Olson on July 18, 1948, at the Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, IA. He worked as a butcher in his father?s grocery store in Estherville, IA and later farmed for ten years. Bill also worked for MVBA for two years at Lake Crystal and then moved to Worthington in 1959. In 1970 he started working as a custodian for the Worthington Senior High School and retired after twenty years of employment. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal and a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. He was also a member of the American Legion. Bill is survived by his wife, Lola, Worthington; one daughter, Toni Alm, Reading; and one son, Steve (Jackie) Davis, St. Cloud; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert and granddaughter, Christianna Alm.
