WILLIAM JULIUS NATH, age 96, of Luverne, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1919, in Springwater Township, Rock County, to Markus and Emma (Schneekloth) Nath. He received his diploma in July of 1933, from Minnesota School District #46.
Bill married (Gloria) June Vogt on October 27, 1940, in Rock Rapids, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived in Adrian and Luverne, later moving near Magnolia where he farmed and worked for International Harvester. They moved back to Luverne in 1961, and he worked as a mechanic for Allis Chalmers and Van's Motor Co. He also worked part-time for 50+ years with the Rock County Fair taking care of the grounds maintenance and later the DNR fish display.
Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Magnolia and previously the Rock County Fair Board. He bowled in leagues for many years, was an avid fisherman, and had a great love for camping and playing cards. He and June played in card clubs and enjoyed playing cards and other games with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, June Nath, Luverne; five children, Patsy (Jack) Cragoe, Luverne; Ron Nath, Aliso Viejo, CA; Larry (Cheryl) Nath, Luverne; David (Cindy) Nath, Colorado Springs, CO; and Terri (Steve) Hoffman, Sioux Falls, SD; thirteen grandchildren, Dawn Mouw, Diane Hall, Stacy Riggs, Joshua Nath, Jeremiah Nath, Jennifer Nath, Joseph Nath, Jonathan Nath, Jacob Nath, Kiara Nath, Allana Nath, Ryan Hoffman & Dana Hoffman; eleven great-grandchildren, Daniel & Matthew Mouw; Stephanie Riggs; Adam & Emma Wiering; Marie, Elaine, Aaron & Luke Nath; and Jackson & Korbin Hoffman; three step great- grandchildren, Christian, Leah & Maris Hall; brother-in-law, Horton Staeffler, Gladbrook, IA; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Nath & Mary Jo Nath.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, James Allen; granddaughter, Kaleina Nath; infant granddaughter, Misty June; an infant great grandson; two sisters, Norma (Ben) Meyer, and Milda Staeffler; and three brothers, Carl Nath, Harvey (Jeanette) Nath & Orlen Nath.
Bill will be lovingly remembered and missed by June (his wife of 74 years) and all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a great joy in his life.
