"Willie" Fenske

WILLIS JOHN (WILLIE) FENSKE, age 85, of Worthington, died, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was born March 22, 1926 in Bigelow, MN; to parents Julius and Marie (Marquardt) Fenske. Willie attended rural school before attending Worthington High School, graduating in 1944. He served his nation during World War II in the United States Navy, training in Great Lakes School and then stationed in Norman OK; Seattle WA; and then serving overseas at Samar Island and the Philippine Islands. He received his honorable discharge in December of 1946. After the service he farmed until 1963 and then worked for Scheppman Construction until 1969. Willie was united in marriage to Clare Ann Moore on December 11, 1964. He worked as a lineman for the City of Worthington until his retirement in 1989. They spent many winters in Alamo, TX. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Willie was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles Club and the Elks Club. Willie is survived by his wife, Clare Ann Fenske, Worthington; children, Michael (Barbara) Boor, Yankton, SD and Patrick Boor of Plymouth, MN; four grandchildren, a sister, Dolores Meier, Worthington. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers. Blessed Be His Memory.
