ZACHARY DEAN EICHSTADT, age 16, of De Smet, SD, formerly of Worthington, was killed by a drunk driver while walking home on Friday, September 23, 2011.
Zachary is survived by his mother, Amy Johnson, De Smet, SD; stepfather, Keith Johnson, De Smet, SD; father, Bernett Eichstadt, Lewisville; brother, Nicholas Eichstadt, De Smet, SD; maternal grandmother, Mary Von Holtum, Worthington; paternal grandfather, Merlin (Sue) Eichstadt, Shakopee; paternal grandmother, Estrid Eichstadt, Sioux Falls, SD; and many aunts, uncles & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Von Holtum; an uncle, Stephen Von Holtum; and gramma gramma Vera Szalewicz.
A memorial service will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Calahan. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
