ZENITH MAE STORY, age 87, of Tyler, formerly of Luverne, died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at the Tyler Health Care Center. She was born May 8, 1919, in Denison, IA, to Henry and Muriel (Fritz) Johnson. Zenith moved from Denison, IA in early childhood to various towns in Iowa & South Dakota before moving to Worthington. She graduated from high school and later attended Northwestern College, in Minneapolis. She worked at Worthmore Ice Cream and Swanberg Agency, in Worthington. Zenith later moved to Luverne where she worked at Tri-State Insurance and VanderKooi Law Office. Zenith married Harold Story on January 1, 1949, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple lived in rural Luverne. Zenith didn?t have children of her own, but she was the spiritual mother to many children as a Sunday School & Bible School Teacher or Superintendent. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, in Luverne, where she served in various offices including organist & choir director. Zenith is survived by her two sisters, Sylvia Steuck, Tyler; and Lilen Kuhlman, Tyler; many nieces & nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on December 5, 1981; three brothers, Merle, Harry & Richard; and a sister, Pauline Dykstra. Funeral will be 2 pm Monday at the First Baptist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Dale Phelps. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, in Luverne.
