ALEX MATTHEW BRANDT, age 24, of Adrian, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died Sunday, October 3, 2021, at his home. He was born January 29, 1997, in Sioux Falls, to Matthew Brandt and Penny Jensen. He graduated from Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in 2015.
Alex lived and worked in Sioux Falls for a few years after high school; he lived in Steen, MN for a short time and in 2020 moved to Adrian. He worked as a sales associate for Holiday Gas Station in Luverne for the last two years. He enjoyed his dog Brutus, playing video games, playing baseball and basketball, fishing, and was an avid Atlanta Falcon fan. Alex was a Midwest All Pro Wrestling fan where he was a huge fan of his cousin Jaxon Slater. He also loved a good book and enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.
Alex is survived by his parents, Matthew and Teresa Brandt, Sioux Falls, SD, and Penny and James Labarr, Le Sueur, MN; siblings, Rylee, Hunter, Maddison and Conner Brandt, Sioux Falls, SD; Reanna (Jordon) Giefer, St. Peter, MN; Sadie Winckler and April Labarr, Le Sueur, MN; paternal grandparents, Jim and Marcia Brandt, Beaver Creek; maternal grandparents, Donna and Gene Benshoof, Watertown, SD; two nieces, Samantha Giefer & Kaylyn Brandt; uncles and aunts, Heather (Dale) Steensma, Steen; Amy Brandt & (Mike Kerkhove), Hills; Jared (Julia) Brandt, Luverne; Jennifer (Lynn) Deyoung, Sioux Falls; Joleen & Charlie Kraai; Ann & Dave Clyatt; cousins, Jaxon, Skyler, Talon, Justin (Marin), Odin & Ensley, Aiden, Haven, Karissa, Daylin, Cinthya, Annie, Makaylee, Charles, John, Teri, Kristene, Ashley, Nicole; and close friends, Isaiah, Nate, Skyler & Madison Ziegler.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Jensen; three uncles, Jerry, Douglas and David Jensen; and cousin, Mary Ann Furney.
Time of fellowship will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, October 15, 2021, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills with Rev. Juanita Parker officiating. A private family burial of cremains will be at a later time.
