ANGELINE C. KRUGER, age 102, of Worthington, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born August 27, 1919, in Ashton, IA, to Mathias and Sophia (Kuta) Seivert. She grew up in Ashton and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at The Osceola Coop Creamery in Sibley, IA.
Angeline married Amos Koopman on November 24, 1940, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sibley, IA. The couple farmed near Melvin, IA. After Amos was discharged from the United States Army, The couple purchased a farm near Round Lake in 1946. Amos died on December 1, 1977. Angeline moved to Round Lake where she worked for the Farmer’s State Bank for over thirty years before retiring in 1982,
She married Stanley Kruger September 9, 1978, and the couple made their home in Round Lake. Stanley died in August of 1993.
She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Brewster; and a current member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. Angeline was Treasurer for the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #461 in Round Lake. She was a member of the Senior Center, the You & I Garden Club and the Ewington Goodwill Club. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling with the motorhome, playing cards and socializing with friends & family.
Angeline is survived by her two sons, Bruce (Susan) Kruger, Round Lake; and Randy (Debbie) Kruger, Belle Plaine; four grandchildren, Scott (Lori) Kruger, Bell Plaine; Sara (Jeff) Smith, Bentonville; and Sean (Jill) Kruger, Chaska; Justin Kruger, Belle Plaine; eight great-grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Taylor, Morgan, Jackson, Ruby, Kai, and Lucy; two great-great-grandchildren, Landon, and Jordan; and a brother, Douglas Seivert, Algona, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister, Marie; and three brothers, Matthew, Gerald, and Martin.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan and Deacon Vern Behrends. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
