CHARLES “CHUCK” STEVEN BUSSE JR., age 58, of Jackson, formerly of Worthington, died Friday, September 8, 2023, at his home. He was born April 20, 1965, in Sibley, IA, to Charles Dennis Sr. and Maxine June (Ames Petersen) Busse. He graduated from Worthington High School.
Chuck grew up in Worthington. He worked at his family’s business, Chuck’s Conoco in Worthington. Chuck had a few odd jobs, and then landed a job as a mail carrier in the Slayton area before moving to Jackson. He thoroughly enjoyed his job as a postal carrier until his health would not allow him to continue that line of work.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and spending time at the family cabin on Lake Shetek. He also enjoyed spending time with life-long friends, Doug, (now deceased) Ryan & Mark.
Chuck is survived by his mother, Maxine Busse, Worthington; two sisters, Cindy (Greg) Wallace, Worthington; and Cheryl (Jay) Lake, Sioux City, IA; seven nieces & nephews, Chad (Autum) Larson, Nicole (Ryan) Sehr, April Wallace, Adam Wallace, Dillon Smith, Dustin (Morgan) Smith and Tanner (Megan) Smith; and eight great-nieces & nephews, Kaylee, Braden, Lincoln, Parker, Lilyanna, Audrey, Keely and Ella.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; an infant sister, Pamela; a sister, Lori and a brother-in-law, Keith; and his beloved dog, Tess.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday September 12 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Funeral will be 7 pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. In memory of Charles' love for the Minnesota Vikings, please wear your favorite Vikings attire at the visitation and funeral per the request of the Busse family. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
