Cindy Hector

CINDY HECTOR, age 65, of Worthington, died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born August 16, 1954, in Worthington, to Donald and Yvonne (Preuss) Hector. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1972. Cindy received her Associates Degree from Worthington Community College; and her Bachelor’s Degree from Briarcliff. In 2003, she earned her Master’s Degree at Southwest State University. Cindy began working at West Publishing proof reading law books. She moved to Worthington in 1989. She later lived in Jackson before moving back to Worthington. Cindy worked in the office at JBS and later at UFCW in Worthington. She retired in September of 2019 and moved to Madison, SD in November. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. She loved her dogs, the outdoors, cross stitching and especially spending time with her granddaughter, Aubrey. Cindy is survived by her daughter, Brianna (Patrick) Routier, Madison, SD; granddaughter, Aubrey Routier; three siblings, Cheryl (Burdell) Boltjes, Worthington; Dan (Casey) Hector, Wilmont; and Scott Hector, Blue Earth; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Greg Hector. A graveside service will be from 4-6 pm Thursday, August 13th at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Grave side service will be 11 am Friday at the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
