DEBORAH KAY JENKINS, age 59, of Fulda, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1961, to Lyle and Jennie (Hulzebos) Jenkins.
Deb was raised on a Junk Yard near Worthington. She seemed to have learned and retained many stern life lessons and wasn’t afraid to pass those onto her children and grandchildren, even if things became physical. Deb enjoyed things like fishing and working on vehicles, or anything worth fixing around the yard, throughout her younger years. "Spring/Fall pick-up" was always a priority, as Deb loved rummaging and could find a use for anything. Although Deb’s family meant the world to her, she always had a special spot in her heart for her wonderful dog, Mason.
Deb is survived by her husband, David VanMeveren; four children, Jeff (Heather) Scheer, Redwood Falls; Stacy (Billy) Cruz, Wabasso; Tonya (Diego) Scheer, Worthington; Nathan VanMeveren, Fulda; three brothers, Donald (Roseland) Jenkins, Daryl (Mary) Jenkins, Douglas (Brenda) Jenkins; and Sister, Dianna (Jim) Scott; fourteen grandchildren, Lukus, Ariel, Brittany, Nathen, Lance, Samantha, Alexis, Maritza, Alicia, J.R., Devin, Amelia, Lilly, and Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Amaya, and Laine.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Jennie Jenkins.
A time of fellowship will be Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. A private family burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
