DELORES "LORIE" MAE WEISS, age 79, of Adrian, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born March 11, 1941, in Little Rock Township, MN to George and Luella (Habbena) Wiertzema.

Lorie married Marvin Heitkamp on June 10, 1958, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived in Adrian. Four children were born to this union, Jolene, Connie, Jeff and Michelle.

Lorie married Edward Weiss on December 3, 2005, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived in Adrian. Lorie worked at Safeway Hatchery in Adrian. She later worked at the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home, in Adrian, as a dietician for many years.

She was a member of the St. Adrian Catholic Church. Lorie's greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! She loved working at the Nursing Home and visiting with her co-workers. She enjoyed baking, playing cards with her friends, visiting casinos, and collecting penguins. She loved her morning coffee and watching the Hallmark Channel.

Lorie is survived by her four children, Jolene (Mike) Truwe, Maple Grove; Connie (Kevin) Nowotny, Sioux Falls, SD; Jeff (Kathy) Heitkamp, Waco, TX; and Michelle (Chad) Loosbrock, Adrian; nine grandchildren, Cole (Megan) Heitkamp, Dani (Chris) Paulson, Sam (Lexi) Lofthus, Brett (Ashley) Nowotny, Tanner (Carli) Loosbrock, Nathan (Emmalie) Loosbrock, Taylor (Logan) Loosbrock, Gabi Berre and Leah Berre; three great-grandchildren, Stevie & Miloh Heitkamp and Regan Nowotny; four step children, Maria (Al) Ahlers, Fulda; Andy (Jill) Weiss, Adrian; Laura (Steve Loosbrock) Weiss, Apple Valley; and Marty (Brandi) Weiss, Adrian; step daughter-in-law, Wendy (Chad) Anderson, Luverne; ten step grandchildren, Alexa, Taylor, Blake, Dana, Devin, Jackie, Sydnie, Josie, MaKaya and Travis; six step great-grandchildren, Leo, Harlow, Beckett, Walker, Vela and Asher; two brothers, Virgil (Anita) Wiertzema, Rushmore; and Marvin (Verna) Wiertzema, Worthington; a sister, Florence Winters, Rock Rapids, IA; brother-in-law, Harm Dammer, Worthington; and sister-in-law, Nancy Wiertzema, Luverne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Luella; husband, Edward; son-in-law, Scott Lofthus; three brothers, Clarence (Alma), Herman (Lena) and Orvie Wiertzema; two sisters, Verona Wiertzema and Rosella Dammer; a step son, Travis Weiss; a step grandson, Caleb Weiss; and ex-husband, Marvin Heitkamp.

   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, with parish prayers at 7pm. Visitation also from 9:30 am to 10:15 am at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
