DORIS ANN LOGER, age 86, of Luverne, died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She was born November 13, 1935, in Kanaranzi, to Charles and Anna (Kuper) Loger. The family lived in several communities in Rock County before settling in Luverne. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1954.
Doris married Harvey Kemerling on December 16, 1956, in Luverne. They farmed until 1971. In 1971, they entered a business partnership, Rock County Implement. They remained in the business until 1993. After the closing of the business, Doris worked as a bookkeeper/receptionist for several businesses in Luverne. Harvey preceded her in death on August 24, 2011. After Harvey's death she moved into an apartment in Luverne. Several years later Doris began to experience vascular dementia and moved to The Oaks and later Poplar Creek Assisted Living.
Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Luverne. She was a member of the VFW and Eagles Clubs of Luverne and volunteered at the Veterans Home. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She was a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. She also enjoyed picking up sticks.
Doris is survived by her five children: Lynette Kemerling, Harland “Duck” (Karen) Kemerling, Dave Kemerling, Larry Kemerling, and Craig (Terri) Kemerling; eight grandchildren: Eric (Stacy) Kemerling, Jonathan Kloos, Paul (Jing) Kloos, Kameron Kemerling, Mikiya Kemerling, Dirk Radke, Drew Radke, and Rylee Radke; three great-grandchildren: Ethan Kemerling, Gabryelle Kloos, and Emily Kloos; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Petersen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two infant siblings; two sisters, Marion and Evelyn; and two brothers, Edwin and Donald.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 2-4pm Sunday, September 18, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private family burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
