EARL LENZ, age 90, of Lismore, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born June 7, 1932, on the family farm near Lismore, to Louis and Mary (Kemper) Lenz. He attended St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore and later attended school in Worthington. Earl was drafted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953 with rheumatic fever.
Earl married Rita Metz on November 9, 1954, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. Together, they raised their four children, Deb (Dave) Konradi, Randy (Jolene) Lenz, Tim (Monica) Lenz and Lisa (Jim) Smith. Earl & Rita worked side by side milking cows, raising calves, farrowing hogs and farming. After retiring from farming, Earl, along with Art Ehde, did custom work bailing hay and drilling beans.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore.  Earl always had a love for John Deere tractors and restored many of them over the years. His grandchildren loved to drive them around the yard when they came to visit. He loved telling stories about his younger years to his children and grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his four children, Deb (Dave) Konradi, Round Lake; Randy (Jolene) Lenz, Adrian; Tim (Monica) Lenz, Lismore; and Lisa (Jim) Smith, Sanborn, IA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
