She was born April 17, 1929, in New Britain, CT, to Clito “Euclid” and Catherine Ann (Squllacote) Santi. Eleanor moved to New York City when she was eighteen years old where she worked at Loring studios, hand-coloring photographs. She could only afford rice to eat while she lived in New York City. After one year, she moved back home where she worked for the same company in Hartford Connecticut. When she was twenty three, she traveled to Italy. Eleanor had a fondness for Italian Bread, Wine, and Cheese. As she often recalled a train ride in Italy and the only food she could get were those three items. One of the things she liked to get for her birthday was Wine, Cheese, and Italian bread. She traveled from Italy to Germany where she recalled seeing all the bullet holes in the buildings from WWII still being there years after the war. She had gone there to marry a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army but later changed her mind. While in Germany, she lived with a local German family that did not have heat in their home and kept warm with down fill comforters. At night she could hear German soldiers marching in the street and said some of the local Germans would throw rocks at her and the U.S. soldiers. On her return trip to the United States, she met her husband Scott Stewart on the deck of the ship named Constitution, she had a headache and he offered her something for it. They Sailed from Italy to New York in December of 1952 and were married on June 23, 1953, in New Britain, Connecticut. They traveled across the country to Hobson, Montana, living with Scott's parents for a time and eventually making their home in Seattle, Washington. The couple later divorced. She was a member of Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. Her hobbies were sewing and painting and she made many handmade dolls. She traveled the United States extensively, having visited most of the lower 48 states. Having lived in Nevada, Florida, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Montana, Minnesota, Connecticut, and Washington state. She had numerous jobs during her life among them were making phone cords and working at Disney World in FL.
