Eunice Mae (Westlund) Mutch

   Eunice Mae (Westlund) Mutch, age 91, of Worthington, passed away October 23, 2021 at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. She was born May 7, 1930 in St. James MN to Mabel and Maynard Westlund.

   After graduating from St. James High School, Eunice attended Mankato Commercial College.  She worked at Brett’s Department Store up until the time she was married. On September 23, 1951 she was joined in marriage to Ronald Mutch of rural Mankato.  Together they had four children. She was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato.

   Eunice loved to be active. She was an avid golfer with two holes in one to her credit.  She liked to bowl, travel, play cards and go fishing. Eunice played competitive horse shoes and took delight in beating the men in the league. After Ron, her second love was their home in Jensen Beach, Florida.  Eunice embraced the retirement community lifestyle and made many special friends there.

   Eunice is survived by her daughter Cindy (Dave) Hokeness, Rushmore MN, two sons Gary (Barb) and Scott both of Mankato MN, grandsons Brian (Sarah) Hokeness, Brent Hokeness, a sister Myrna (Eldon) Quiring of Butterfield MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, son Merle, parents Maynard and Mabel (Syverson) Westlund, a sister Ardis (Robert) Snyder, brothers Marlyn (Shirley), Orland (Anne) and Dale (Alice). 

   A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour before the service, Saturday October 30th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato MN.
