Evelyn Marion (Braun) Jacobs

   EVELYN MARION JACOBS, age 92, of Rushmore, died Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born February 17, 1930, in Luverne, to Karl and Reka (Honken) Braun. She attended Prairie Hill School Dist. #29.
   Evelyn married Walter Jacobs on June 2, 1954, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading, MN. They farmed southeast of Rushmore and lived there until October of 2007. They farmed, raised livestock and had dairy cows. 
   She was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, south of Rushmore for over forty years, where she taught Sunday School & Bible School and sang in the church choir. She then became a member of East Friesland Church of Christ in 1997. She enjoyed growing flowers especially her orchids. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
   Evelyn is survived by her son, Wesley (Sylvia) Jacobs, Atwater, MN; four grandchildren, Sarah (Philip) Ruud, Willmar; Corey Jacobs, Minneapolis; Erica (Brandon) Jacobs-Quam, Robbinsdale; and Logan (Molly) Jacobs, Rochester; and a great-grandson, Quentin Ruud.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter on November 19, 2009; and seven siblings, Adolph, Meta, Ella, Lydia, Otto, Emma and Viola.

   Funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 am at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Randall Knuth.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
