Gregory Jensen Obituary

Gregory W. Jensen, Milford, IA, was born  in Worthington, MN on August 4, 1949 to James and Ruth (Schmidt) Jensen.  He passed into the welcoming arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 22, 2018.  Greg was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's in Worthington and was a member of St. Joseph's parish in Milford, IA. Greg grew up in Round Lake, MN and graduated from Round Lake Public School.  He went on to obtain a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University.  Greg was athletic and enjoyed participating in basketball and baseball during his high school years.  However, his passion was golf, and he was an excellent golfer, playing in league for many years in Milford.  He and his partner were Club Champions on more than one occasion.

Greg married Roxanne Rutzen and to this union a daughter, Laura, was born.  Laura was truly the light of Greg's life.  She later gifted him with two wonderful grandchildren - Sydney and Jaxon.  He adored his grandchildren, and it would be hard to find a happier or prouder grandpa!

Greg taught in Frost, MN after graduating from college.  He had done some truck driving during college and decided to return to life on the road.  He drove for both the Sather Cookie Company and Smith Trucking before being employed by Stylecraft in Milford.  He worked at Stylecraft until he retired, and had also worked for the past 21 years at Max Yield Co-Op C Store in Fostoria, IA.  He enjoyed seeing all the "regulars" as well as meeting travelers who were visiting the Iowa Great Lakes area.

Greg was a kind, soft spoken man who will be missed deeply by his family and friends.   Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Laura Bell; grandchildren, Sydney and Jaxon Bell;  siblings Teresa (Gary) Anderson of Waterloo, IA,  Rita Beecroft of Muscatine, IA,  Dan (Deb) Jensen of Worthington, MN, and Chuck (Kris) Jensen of Bemidji, MN.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and numerous friends.  Greg was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother - Aaron Jensen, sister in law - Leslie Jensen, and brothers in law - Jack Tolsma and Bill Beecroft.

Blessed be his memory.
