Gregory "Ox" Harold Johnson

   GREGORY “OX” HAROLD JOHNSON, age 54, of Luverne, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at his home. He was born September 16, 1969, in Pipestone, to Arthur and Patricia (Korthals) Johnson. He attended school in Magnolia before graduating from Luverne High School in 1988.

   Ox married Sandy McClure on July 24, 1993, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. The couple lived in Magnolia and Ellsworth before moving to Luverne. Ox worked at various places including IBP, over the road trucking, Riggs, CHS and most recently for Martin Township as a road grader.

   He enjoyed a good BS session and talking to everyone. He also enjoyed camping, his grandkids and cooking & grilling and he even built his own smoker.

   Ox is survived by his wife, Sandy Johnson, Luverne; two sons, Heath (Fiancé, Nichole Nelson) Wallenberg, Valley Springs, SD; and Jeremy (Tara) Wallenberg, Luverne; Logan Herman-Kix, Valley Springs, SD (was like a daughter to us); Heather Kruse, Ellsworth; nine grandchildren, Nathan (Imogen), Micah, Addison, Lily, Dylan (Magenta), Lexi (Mason), Shayla (Jose), Ryley and Emmalee; great-grandchild, Mateo & two on the way; father, Arthur Johnson, Luverne; sister, Marie (Mark) Opheim, Hills; eight nieces & nephews; eighteen great nieces & nephews; a brother-in-law, Jeff McClure; and a sister-in-law, Arla (Buz) Cousins.

   He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; in-laws, Arly & Ruth McClure; and a sister-in-law, Barb McClure.

   Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday, March 9, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private service will be at a later date.
