HARLAN KEITH HAUSMANN, age 68, of Rushmore, died Sunday, February 23, 2020, at his home. He was born June 3, 1951, in Iowa City, IA, to Edward and Elsie (Kruse) Hausmann. He attended elementary and high school in Adrian. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1969. Harlan served his country in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
Harlan was united in marriage to Corinne King on September 4, 1970, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore. After their marriage, they made their home in Rushmore. Harlan worked at various elevators in the area throughout the years and had just retired from New Vision Elevator, in Wilmont, last year.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, the Worthington American Legion, he had served as Mayor of Rushmore, and the Rushmore Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief. Harlan was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping, gardening. He also enjoyed collecting toy tractors and attending toy auctions. His biggest pride and joy was his family and he especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. He was known as Papa Harlan to Corinne’s day care children.
Harlan is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Corinne Hausmann, Rushmore; three children, Bruce Hausmann, Rushmore; Brian Hausmann, Rushmore; and Melissa Hausmann, Rushmore; three grandchildren, Ashlee and Griffin Hausmann; and Skylar Tosch; brother, Kevin (Eileen) Hausmann, Aurora, MO; and a sister, Audrey (Tim) Luitjens, Brewster, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, officiated by Pastor Paul Snyder. Burial with full military honors provided by the Worthington American Legion & VFW will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
