Harm Dammer Obituary

   HARM DAMMER, age 91, of Worthington, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home. He was born May 26, 1930, in Little Rock, IA, to Henry and Jennie (Meyeraan) Dammer. He attended country school south of Rushmore.
   Harm married Rosella Wiertzema on April 26, 1951 in Rushmore.  They were true soulmates always taking care of each other and walking side by side, hand in hand. They lived their entire married lives in the Rushmore and Worthington areas. He was a devoted husband; very rarely did you see Harm and Rosella apart.
   He worked at the Worthington Hatchery; and Worthington Ready Mix before working for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for over twenty six years. He loved competing in the MN DOT Rodeo with his fellow coworkers. After his retirement, Harm and Rosella enjoyed many bus trips. They made many new friends on these trips and always kept in contact after they returned. They enjoyed going fishing, joy rides around the lake, polka music and going to the casino. Harms favorite thing to do was to wash & polish his car. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington.
   Harm is survived by his three daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Jones, Adrian; Mary (Darwin) Sieve, Worthington; and Sandra (Don) Meyer, Truman; four grandchildren, Darin (Kris) Jones, Jennifer (Darren) Osten, Jason (Holly) Sieve and Justin (Holli) Sieve; nine great-grandchildren, Hanna, Kailey, Joshua, Ella, Presley, Madison, Monroe, MacKenzie and Crosby; three step-grandchildren, Tammy (Randy VanLaar) Postma, Kevin (Woody) Meyer and Bryan (Mitchelle) Meyer; five step great-grandchildren, Kory, Christopher, Nathan, Tiera and Jag; and many nieces & nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosella on March 15, 2018; a step great-grandchild, Shannon Postma; two brothers, Sievert & John Dammer; and three sisters, Mattie Bents, Tena Gingerich and Alma Wiertzema.

 

   Visitation will be 2-5 pm Sunday, with sharing of memories at 5pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Monday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen Smith. Burial will be 1pm Monday at the Little Rock Cemetery in Little Rock, IA.
