JAMES VERDEAN KROSCH, age 83, of Brewster, died Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his home. He was born March 10, 1939, in Elmore, MN, to Lester and Ernestine (Swadley) Krosch. After graduating from Elmore High School in 1957, Jim attended tech school. Jim entered the United States Airforce in July of 1957. He served his country before being honorably discharged in August of 1960.
Jim married Carol Meyer on August 9, 1991, in Sibley, IA. The couple lived in Brewster. Jim worked as a boiler operator at Swift, in Worthington, for over eighteen years before retiring in 2005.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and roses, watching hummingbirds and especially his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Krosch, Brewster; son, Chad Krosch, Starbuck; daughter, Suelaine (special friend, Scott) Krosch, Faribault; step son, Jay (Marjorie) Peterson, Brewster; three step daughters, Jackie (David) Paul, Wahpeton, ND; Julie (Kenny) Sandvig, Spencer, IA; and Jolene Peterson, Brewster; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Diana (Mike) Tischer, Elmore; and Jacquie Krosch, Gun Barrel City, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Ernestine; and his step father, Harold.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 pm at the First United Methodist Church, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Dr. Daren Flinck. Burial with full military honors will be in the Hersey Cemetery in Brewster.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Northfield VFW Post 4393.
