Jerome Henry Erpelding

   JEROME HENRY ERPELDING, age 93, of Adrian, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born August 27, 1929, in Lismore, to Nicholas and Clara (Scheitler) Erpelding. He was their seventh son. Jerome’s education took him through the eighth grade before he was needed on the family farm.

   Jerome married Frances Boltjes on April 19, 1949, in Lismore. The couple moved to Woodstock where they farmed for twenty eight years. In 1977, they retired from farming and moved into town and ran the service station on Main Street. He enjoyed working on old tractors and fixing things. He became the handyman for many of the senior citizens in town. In 2002, they moved to Adrian. As his health began to decline, Jerome entered the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in 2019.

   He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church. 

   Jerome is survived by his wife, Frances Erpelding, Adrian; a son, Jerry (Sheri) Erpelding, Woodstock; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Curtis) Lee, Pipestone; and Amy (fiancé, Darren Harris) Erpelding, Marshall; and two great-grandchildren, Shayla & Hannah who brought him so much joy.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers, Lawrence, Leo, Isadore, Wilfred, Art and Alvin Erpelding.

   A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, March 4, at 11 am at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Gerald Kosse. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
