JOHN SCHROER, age 77, of Worthington, died Monday, November 5, 2018, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. He was born December 8, 1940, in Wilmont, to John and Alice (Hurlbut) Schroer. After graduation, he joined the Marine Corp.
John married Janice Winter on August 25, 1961. John drove truck for numerous years, and then began his own truck repair business until his retirement.
He enjoyed polka music and dancing (especially in Lake Benton. John also enjoyed golfing, bowling, riding his motorcycle and RC Racing with his boys. He loved bringing his great-grandchildren to coffee.
John is survived by his four children, Steven (Donna) Schroer, Worthington; Kevin (friend, Caitlyn) Schroer, Bloomington; Penny (Fred) Middagh, Crooks, SD; and John (Erin) Schroer, Burnsville; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Sonya Kellen, Browerville; Peg (Harlan) Ober, Brewster; Tom (Wendy) Schroer, Waseca; Dan (JoAnn) Schroer, Joplin, MO; Jane (Wayne) Sazama, Round Lake; June (Jim) Brust, Tyler; and Connie (Kelly) Vortherms, Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice in 2000; and a brother, Henry “Hank” Schroer.
A private family committal of cremains will be at a later date at the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
